Privacy policy

What we collect

When you use the contact form we store your name, email address, optional phone number, the type of inquiry and your message. When you subscribe to the newsletter we store your email address and optional name. We also record which page a submission came from.

How it is used

Submissions are used only to reply to you and, if you subscribed, to send the monthly newsletter. Information is never sold, rented or shared for advertising.

Where it is stored

Submissions are stored in a private, access-controlled database. Only Christopher Martinez and authorised administrators can read them.

Unsubscribing and deletion

You can ask to be removed from the newsletter or to have your inquiry deleted at any time by emailing christopher@spotlightnc.com.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. No analytics service, advertising pixel or social-media tracking script runs on our pages, and we do not follow visitors across other websites to serve them ads.

A small amount of information is stored in your browser only where the site needs it to work: your sign-in session in the admin area, and a short-lived setting that helps a page recover if it fails to load after an update. Neither is used for advertising or to build a profile of you.

Two outside services are contacted directly by your browser: Google supplies the typefaces used across the site, and YouTube supplies the video player on articles that have a video attached. Those companies may set their own cookies and record the request under their own privacy policies, not ours.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site still works with cookies disabled.

Links to other websites

Pages here link out to other websites, mainly so you can reach the brokerage and the properties it holds. The destinations are:

• Spotlight Realty | Compass (mymosaicrealty.com) — the brokerage site linked from the header and footer, and the individual property pages and active listings published by Spotlight Realty.
• Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn — the social profiles linked from the footer of every page.
• Google and YouTube — the typefaces and article video players described under “Cookies and analytics”.
• Government websites — hud.gov, ncrec.gov and doa.nc.gov, linked from the fair housing page for complaint filing and licensing information.

Links are provided for convenience. Once you leave this site, this policy no longer applies: those websites are independently operated, we do not control what they collect or how they use it, and we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Their own policies govern anything you do there, so it is worth reading them before you send anyone your personal information.

A link here does not mean we endorse a website or that it is connected to us in any way beyond the brokerage affiliation named above.

Children's privacy

This site is written for adults looking for property in and around Chapel Hill. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age.

If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we delete it. If you believe a child has sent us their information through a form on this site, email us at the address below and we will remove it promptly.
