Fair housing commitment
Every person deserves equal access to housing. This practice is committed to fair housing in every conversation, showing and transaction.
Equal Housing Opportunity
Christopher Martinez and Spotlight Realty | Compass are pledged to the letter and spirit of the federal Fair Housing Act, the North Carolina State Fair Housing Act and the City of Chapel Hill's nondiscrimination ordinance. We do not discriminate in the sale, rental, financing or advertising of housing.
Protected classes
Federal and North Carolina law prohibit housing discrimination based on:
- Race
- Color
- Religion
- Sex, including sexual orientation and gender identity
- National origin
- Familial status (households with children under 18, or pregnancy)
- Disability (handicap)
The City of Chapel Hill also prohibits discrimination based on characteristics including sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, ethnicity, veteran status, pregnancy and marital or familial status.
How this practice applies it
- Listings describe the property and its features, never who should live there.
- Clients choose neighborhoods themselves. Questions about schools, crime or the makeup of an area are answered by pointing to official, public sources rather than personal opinion.
- Every client receives the same level of service, information and access.
Reasonable accommodations
People with disabilities may request reasonable accommodations, including assistance animals, and reasonable modifications. If you need an accommodation to use this website or our services, contact christopher@spotlightnc.com or (828) 747-9095.
